Welcome to the Bedford County Utility District Website
Bedford County Utility District is proud to present our new website to the citizens of Bedford County. BCUD is proud to server rural Bedford County with water and natural gas. The leadership and ideas of the present and past Board Members has made the expansion of our water district possible over the past several years. The Board of Commissioners, manager and employees are dedicated to meeting the challenges of such a large and diverse public water supply. With the huge service area that we have, we must maintain an aggressive attitude toward growth, expansion, and planning for the future. Our water treatment plant on Halls Mill Road, with a pumping capacity of more than 4,000,000 gallons per day will be able to provide the purest water possible for a large portion of Bedford County for several decades. The growth of our system will continue in 2008 as we upgrade pumps in the Normandy area to increase flow and pressure to our customers in the Normandy area. In order to maintain the demand for safe and adequate water supply, BCUD will continue to look for ways to fund the growth we are experiencing in the rural areas of our county. We hope the website will be a valuable source of information about our gas and water services. With the world in a constant change with new regulations, terrorist threats, new technology and growth, the need for information is never ending.
